Activities:

Economics: Build your own Hooverville. Collect at least 10 card board boxes (bigger the better). You will need duct tape and maybe other supplies (you will have to figure it out). Build a card board home for two.

Write A Letter: #1 Pretend you are President Truman and you have dropped the bomb. Write a sympathetic letter to the Japanese that perished. Explain your reasons for dropping the bomb. #2 Pretend you are President Truman and you did not drop the bomb. Write a sympathetic letter to the mother of a fallen soldier. Explain your reasons for not dropping the bomb.


Present: Research the programs of the New Deal. Pick two government programs that you believe the government should have copied during the Great Recession (2008-2012). Explain your reasoning.
