PHILOSOPHY
My educational philosophy is based on the research of educational leaders and my own data-driven findings.
The first step of the approach is the mastery of the basics. Students will develop a foundational knowledge of the content through traditional strategies aided by technology.
With a common vocabulary and base knowledge, student background experience will be utilized to create scaffolding. This foundational knowledge will be further developed through application activities.
The final step of the learning process is to extend the developed knowledge through analysis and evaluation via fair, honest, and respectful debate.
During this process, high-level students will be given creative outlets during the application activities. The struggling students will receive one-on-one support during the application activity — matching boards, or a quick review of facts and definitions (this intervention will be tracked and the data will be utilized for evaluation and improvement).
